Cherry Blossom Festival in Jinhae, South Korea

When spring comes, cherry blossom is one of the thing to be related to the lovely season. In South Korea, cherry blossoms can be found easily along the street or in the public park. But you will never find the most significant and breath-taking cherry blossoms views in Korea other than in Jinhae.

Cherry blossom were firstly introduced in Jinhae during the Japanese’s rule. In 70’s, Jinhae city planted the “King Cherry” in every corner of the city as the effort to become the number.1 cherry blossom city in the world. Since then, Jinhae started the cherry blossom festival annually on April which always attracts incredible number of crowds of both local and foreign tourist to this small city in the spring.

We reached Jinhae at 4 a.m and went to the romance bridge(여좌천) to see the night view of cherry blossom. The day was still dark and hard to take a good photo with limited natural light.

We continued to wander around till it became bright at 6 a.m. Compared with night version of cherry blossom, it looked better during the day.

After seeing enough of the romance bridge, we walked to the Jehwangsan Park.

There was 365 steps of stairs which lead to the observatory tower in the park.IMG_0364 IMG_0354 IMG_0380

The last and the must-visit attraction during the festival, the Gyeonghwa railway station. There is a rail track in the middle while plenty of cherry blossom is at both side. The view was awesome because there was endless of cherry blossom around, as if you are embraced by the cherry blossom kingdom with its wave of cherry flower. However, it was too crowded with people, a little frustrating to take a nice shot of picture.
